Hello all;

I was recently put on Lamotrigine (25 mg first step) and I get dizzy almost an hour after taking it in the morning. The dizziness happens when I stand up - I know its a common side effect - but I'm just at 25mg, havent moved up to higher dosages yet.

Anyone else get this effect when they started?

I did not get that no but dizziness is certainly listed by the FDA as a side effect. 25mg is a very low dose. Side effects of lamotrigine tend to subside several weeks into treatment as your body becomes used to it. Ask a pharmacist if it does not go away.

When I started on it, I would get dizzy.
Mostly in the morning though

It took about three weeks to disappear

And, it made me really thirsty too

I forgot about until I saw this but yeah I had some dizziness in the beginning. It is a low dose but it is more than your body ever had before and it is slowly adjusting. Good luck!

aHA. That's the one responsible for my dry mouth. Good to know.

I don't get dizzy but I feel like my close up vision blurs by the end of the day. Dunno what that's about.

In the beginning I did. I'm up to 250 now and my vision blurrs from time to time. Your brain probably is just trying to adjust.
