I've been on double the maximum recommended dose of Cymbalta for some time. I was taken off Topamax and put on lithium for two months, gained 25 lbs and was nauseous most of the time (still am). I had to stop the Geodon I was switched to because it was causing blackouts.

I'm so manic I scare myself. I'm getting my money, cards, car, and Internet-capable computers out of my grasp and to my best friends. They're monitoring me. But I'll be gone till this hot mess is cleared away.

Take very best care of yourselves.

I'd say cymbalta would be a big no no. It was the first thing I was taken off when I became manic.
Thanks for this!

I know when I was still on Ritalin for adhd, it increased my manic episodes from basically BP2 to BP1...add alcohol and I was basically full on manic, no longer hypomanic.

But we are all different, best course of action, talk to your pdoc about stimulants -- which I believe Cymbalta is -- and increased chance of manic episodes.

I ended up in the hospital because Cymbalta put me into a manic state and I attempted suicide. As soon as they took me off of it the mania came down with it.

You should probably call/talk to your pdoc about it.

Hugs.

It's good you still have enough insight to get money etc out of your grasp and to get friends around you.
