Does anyone take this medication? My proc told me to look into different medications as a mood stabilizing possibility and this is the best sounding one I found. what have been your experiences with it. good and bad.

I like it. I have been on it for over ten years. Im on a fairly low dose now. It stopped these little seizures i was having that i never realized were seizures, which kinda makes me wonder! But overall, very pleased with it. It gave me a feeling that life was worth living - like when Goldie Hawn says in the movie, Private Benjamin, "I wanna have lunch!" - i finally wanted to stop isolating at work and go have lunch.

I was prescribed it by my neurologist for headaches. He bumped me up to 200mg and it made me manic, but I do okay at 100mg. I notice a much greater effect on me physically than mentally, especially if I miss a dose… weird tingling in my hands and feet and face, but again, I'm on a low dose.

I took it for migraines. It worked really well and even helped with weight loss. However, I had weird memory loss and tingling like other people have described. I eventually went off of it because of the memory loss. My mom referred to it as "dopamax". Ha.
