I am 36 and diagnosed with Bipolar II with rapid cycling. I just need some people in my life that can help me put all this **** in my head into perspective. I feel like I am drowning most of the time. I have been battling this for 4 years and it keeps getting worse.
I currently take Latuda and Wellbutrin...but I feel like I would rather be on more so I wouldn't have to deal with this crap in my head. I just want to feel good for 1 day out of my life.

Welcome!

I think I can say in the name of all of us here we know how you feel. I am still not feeling myself, and I've been through hell for the last 2 years, so did my family and my BF.

If your problems are mental, everything around you suffers. But think positive though it's hard. Look how many people are around you, sharing the same sh**, but they are ok. THere are a lot of different meds possible, you pdoc will surelly find something that will make you ok and that not just one day of your life will be ok, but all of them.

Be well!

Welcome to the group!

Have you ever been on anything else? It sounds like you might need different medication or perhaps a different dosage. What does your doc say? Are you in therapy as well?

It took 5 years for my MD, pdoc, neurologist & me working together to get the right meds. Also, a psychiatric RN. Some meds that were supposed to calm the manias made me hyper. Everyone is different so nobody reacts exactly the same way to Rxs. Welcome to the group!!!

At least for me meds work for awhile and then they stop working. Maybe you need a different dosage or new meds?

I am also diagnosed with rapid cycling. I know for me, I can't have antidepressants because they make me go toward mania. I don't know if that would help you or not.

Lamictal is one of the most effective drugs for rapid cycling. Rapid cycling can be hard to treat.

I'm bp2 and I'm on a good regime of meds. Geodon and lamictal for bipolar, only a little lexapro for the depression, neurontin for anxiety and xanex as prn when needed. Everyone reacts differently to each med. Someone might respond well to one med but not another. It depends on the person. Geodon has been a lifesaver for me. It rounded out my mood swings. Welcome to the group! I'm glad you found us. I hope you feel better soon.

I have been on Lamictal ,seroquel and Latuda. I have also been on every antidepressant.my problem lately is the depression. I can't shake it this time. I haven't been manic since I started the Latuda in November. I think I want to try ECT...any thoughts on ECT?

Welcome! It's wonderful to read so many supportive comments- this really is a safe haven. I really hope you can connect with a good pdoc and the medications adjusted for you. I do believe there is a road to healing. Healing may not be total, but medication is a key part of the times of remission I've had.
Thanks for this!

You came to the right place. This is such a safe and secure community of people who care for each other and understand and not judge you. Welcome! You will definitely get some good advice and kindness.

Things will look up. Maybe meet with you psycharatrist about how you're feeling.
I'm Bipolar 2 as well. When I'm down/ depressed I totally understand. I take generic of Geodon 40 mg, Lamitcal 100 mg, and Cogentint 2 mg to help with side affects. I'm gonna call my Psy. To add a little dose of Seroquel to help me sleep and help with my depression.
