Hi I have been diagnosed with bipolar, anxiety and ADHD. Thought before it was depression but was never getting better with meds, so went to see psychiatrist. Now I have been told.to introduce a mood stabilizer and there are so many and I have no clue which one, psych wanted me to research first, they all seem scary. Currently on concerta 54mg and sertraline 100mg. He has also suggested I go off on short term for 3-4 months to sort things out, try new meds etc. just overwhelmed with all the news and don't know what to do. What do you all suggest? Also I'm in ontario canada. Like my job but the stress lately has been so much I hate going to work. Same industry for 15 years different companies, wondering if I take advantage of STD and find something less stressful? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Do you have questions about any of the mood stabilizers in particular? There are people on here with experiences with pretty well all of them.

I can't really give any advice, but am here to listen. Getting the diagnosis is hard. If you can take some time off work to focus on getting well it might help.

Ask questions and keep posting on the forum. People here are very helpful and understand what you are going through.

I'd research lamictal, abilify, and depkote first all can be taken with your other meds. If it was me I'd try the lamictal then abilify if that didn't work.

Do not forget vitamin Z. This with Fluoxetine is a treatment for BP approved by the FDA.

I would not touch vit. Z because of the wait gain and fluoxetine made me believe I was pregnant with gods baby. So,.... I'm not a fan of that one either.
