I haven't posted in a bit, but I was wondering if anyone had any advice for controlling manic/hypomanic impulses. Mine are mostly problems with saying things I shouldn't. I don't want a med change. I was just wondering if there were ways to control impulses without changing my meds around again. Has anyone found anything that works? I usually know as soon as I say or do something I've crossed a line, but I can't seem to know it BEFORE I do it. Sometimes I can tell as the words are coming out of my mouth. Ideas?

Freeze the credit card in a block of ice? Postpone purchasing decisions for a day? The problem with me is spending money.

Use the 2 breathe rule .. before you let the words fly out of your mouth breathe twice and think about what you want/should say.
Takes some practice but it works. Good luck
