I have been diagnosed with Bipolar and am currently on Latuda daily. I am having severe agitation episodes, this is causing major problems with my marriage as it is causing constant fights. I am looking for any suggestions other then medication and counseling (which I am already doing) to help get through these severe episode. I fear that this may end my marriage if I can not get it under control.

You could be experiencing akathisia. It's a side effect of the meds. I was on latuda too and I had to stop bc the akathisia was so bad. Look into it. I hope u feel better soon.

We have a rule in our house that the saner one can not engage in an argument with the other leaving the aggravated one in a one sided fight.

Medication could be the cause depending on how long you've been on it. Although it could be an episode because I gt like that all the damn time, meds or no. I don know if you have time for this or a chance to do it but what helps me is taking some quiet time. I go into my bedroom or another quiet room and just sit for awhile. Length of time varies depending on how long I have and how pissed off or agitated I am. At my worst it has taken an hour of sitting in total silence. I could only do that bc my husband had to go to a meeting and my son was in bed. Usually I get about ten or fifteen minutes. But it helps to just cut off all stimulation and just breathe.

Severe agitation was my number one symptom that finally pushed me to see a Pdoc.
My wife was tired of my bad irritable mood, and I was tired of it too!

Lamictal is helping mildly at 200mg, though I may up it to 300mg, to see if it helps better. Right now, I think I am definitely less agitated than when im unmedicated.

I, too, am wondering about medication. I was on Zoloft and has sheerly hellish agitation/anxiety/angst. AWFUL. I dropped the Zoloft down to almost nothing and had a vast improvement immediately.
