This may sound really stupid, and ignorant so i apologise in advance if that is the case.
About 2 years ago i was diagnosed with depression, and after 3 months referred to a mental health team to under go tests for bipolar disorder. This scared me stupid. I am a police officer and if i got a diagnosis of bipolar it would seriously mess up my career. So i didn't go, and instead bought a one way ticket to australia, (yes it was on a n impulse, not the smartest move) and spent the next 18 months moving whenever stuff got a bit too real. i came back joined the police and I'm 2 months into training, but I've been battling the old demons again and i can't stop thinking about how pointless my life is. im not sure what I'm meant to do now. grofibghsrjeoqwkdjorp[d |

Welcome to the Community, stephd7. My suggestion is to get a referral for an assessment and any treatment that is indicated. May as well find out what is going on so you can deal with it.
I wish you well. |

Welcome
You really need to get an assessment in order to get proper treatment. If in fact you have an illness that requires medication and you follow whatever treatment is prescribed than it shouldn't interfere with your job. Many function very well in higher professional positions. If you are struggling with symptoms of a mental illness, I strongly encourage you to seek some help. It's not the end of the world, you will learn how to manage. Good luck
