I take Geodon 40mg, Lamictal 100mg, and Cogentint 2mg for side affects. When I transition down I'm almost crashing as some of my friends have said. I know Lamictal is a mood stabilizer. Do you all think I need more to avoid the awful depression? Or anyone have any other suggestions? I'm going to my pdoc Monday. I'd like to see how I can avoid the crashing darkness. Thx

I'm on 400 lamictal and 160 mg geodon. Those doses REALLY help with my depression. I.slowly went up on both and the geodon helped alot. I.think in my opinion the increase in both would do wonders for yr depression. I wish you luck. I'm really stable right now with the exception of a few panic attacks but that's normal for me. That's where my xanex.helps..hugs

I'm on 300mg Lamictal, I felt nothing at 100mg, felt mildly better at 200, and I feel almost "cured" at 300mg.

Thankfully I transitioned up yesterday. Just researching to be prepared for a discussion with my pdoc.

I mark my ups and down on my calendar. I usually transition every 2-3 weeks.

I struggle with my weight too, as well as diabetes. I watch my blood sugars and lay off the ice cream if I feel I'm gaining weight. I don't own a scale because I don't want numbers to decide for me if I'm going to have a good day or not. I go by the fit of my clothes and how well I tolerate physical activity. Like you, I lost weight when I was only on Geodon. I put some of it back on when I went on Zyprexa, but it's leveled off now and I'm in a holding pattern. I think our bodies get used to the meds and the weight gain slows down eventually for a lot of people. So you may want to talk to your doc again about the Seroquel, because sleep is vital in achieving and maintaining stability. JMHO.

Yes, sleep is important! Is Zyprexa a mood stabilizer? |

Vitamin Z is just the term I use for Zyprexa, lol. It's used as a mood stabilizer but its official classification is an atypical antipsychotic.
