What is the one sign that tells you that you may be moving into an episode, mania or depression? Kind of like a warning to you.

My main mania warning is sleep changes.

Insomnia for more than 3 nights. That's the biggest sign. And talking nonstop, jumping from one topic to another

Anger that is turning to rage when the situation to which I'm responding is difficult, but not terrible.

Racing thoughts and changes in energy levels. Plus, my dog senses them and will not leave my side.

Sleep decreases less than my normal insomnia of 3 hours a nite.. Feeling irritated for no apparent reason. Pressured speech.

One of my 3 dogs reacts also and stays by my side when I'm in a severe depression, the other two do a little bit. With mania I first notice my memory goes, like forgetting phone extensions at work and I have trouble spelling. I have the usual insomnia and irritability. Now this next one is kinda weird. I play the piano and when the hypo mania starts my mind is racing so my fingers on the piano keys and my mind are not syncing together. It's all over the place, like I'm not already in an irritable mood. This last one took a few years before I linked the two together.

Irritability is my main symptom when I'm swinging towards mania but dark thoughts warn me of depression before it fully hits.

Sudden changes in my sleep pattern and thought processes alert me that an episode might be upon me.
