I had ECT and they must have done something different because it knocked me out in a big way. I am still a little headachey.

The worst thing about the day is that my husband lost his job and we have to cancel a lot of plans that we were looking forward to.

Crap crap crap crap crap.

I am so sorry, BNLsMom. I understand your frustration over the job situation. I had to quit my job because I was spending too much time at appointments, and we are doing a lot of adjusting in order to make ends meet. I don't know how ect feels, but I hope all turns out okay. ...One day at a time!

ECT has been heaven sent. I am definitely feeling stable with it, with the exception of a few days here and there. I think they turned up the juice or something because of the couple of bad days I had last week. I feel like I ran a marathon. I am not usually sore from the treatment, but wow this one hit hard. I am still a little headachy, the next morning.

My husband has a couple of things on the horizon that may work out. It just sucks that we went through layoffs and losing health insurance, etc. all last summer and now that things were improving, it happens again.

Life.

So will you have to cancel the personal organizer now? The deep cleaning crew? That sucks - you were getting your life together with the assistance of these helpers. I am sorry.

The personal organizer was supposed to come yesterday to do a walk through. We had to cancel it.

We're still on the waiting list for the cleaning company because if things get better, I don't want to have to go to the end of the waiting list.

I was going to start working in the fall, but I might go back earlier. I won't make any money until I sell some houses and it will take a while to get started...

I don't know, I should probably enjoy some more stability before I actually go back. If I go out of desparation I will end up jumping in too fast and stressing myself out of the industry again.

Anyway, my husband might get his license and join me. I think we would be a good team.

I am so angry. I just found out that he got fired for doing something stupid and that he lied to me and said it was a layoff.

It's times like these that my husband tells me to just take life five minutes at a time. Anything more than that feels overwhelming. I hope things will look up soon.

I'm sorry you had to cancel.

I have never had ECT but I imagine it makes you a bit confused for a while and as you said physically worn out. Be kind to yourself. I wish I could help you get through the rest, but you know I'm always here. (Within several hours, anyway.)

I'm so sorry you are going thru this. Seems like when it rains in pours sometimes. Hoping things will get going for you in a positive way really soon!

Oh NOO lied to you saying layed off when he was fired. Ut Oh. Thats probably got you fired up more than anything. If it were me it would.

My hubby was layed off in December after 30 years. Things are working out for us better than expected now. Not sure how it worked out, things just slowly but surely did. Hoping things will improve for you =)

He probably was ashamed, that is why he lied. Not that I am trying to justify his lying, I am just trying to think of an explanation.

He was ashamed and thought that I would leave him for getting fired. I am not happy, but I am not going to leave him. That was one of my marriage deal breakers when we were doing poorly, but it is not that simple. I can't break up the family. We are just going to do the best we can, make sure we can still send the kids to school. That is actually even more important than keeping out house. We would sell the house before we would take the kids out of school. That school has been so good for our oldest son. We are happy that our youngest son gets to go there on a full scholarship and we just have to pay his fees. It is going to be hard to pay for our oldest to go there, but we'll have to figure something out. I don't want to take him away from his friends and his teachers that he knows so well.

As far as my mood goes, I am doing well. ECT yesterday was better. I was not as sore and I felt alert most of the day.

This morning I went to a yoga class and it felt awesome.

So glad your feeling better. I don't mean to be stupid but what is ECT?

ECT = electroconvulsive therapy, aka shock treatment. It's not nearly as bad as people think. I will start going every other week now and on Monday I will be evaluated to see if I can drive.

I would like to hear more about people's experience with ECT. I have a lot of experience and would like to compare it with others.
