Today is my first day back to work after being inpt. from 7/15/14 through 7/24/14. That hosp. was my first in about 25 yrs. and I'm really nervous about going back to work. In the '80s I was in and out of the hosp. about 10 times, and on SSDI from 88-97. So flashing forward to this year, my dog died 2/6/14, at 15 1/2 years old, and I gradually began sleeping less, having paranoid delusions about work and home, hearing and seeing things. Eventually I thought I was being sent on some type of special mission involving govt. agencies, and everything began to take on special significance and meaning. I began getting signals and instructions from songs and written media. I thought my phone was tapped a work etc. So I eventually ended up in he hosp. and right now I feel like I'm starting over from scratch, having wiped away 25 years of stability.

If this makes any sense I'm ready to go back to work, but not ready at the same time.

Parks - thanks for your post. You have made amazing progress since the 80's! It might feel like you are starting over from scratch but you have had a lot of good years under your belt so I imagine your recovery from this relapse will be easier.

I certainly understand your anxiety about returning to work but I bet you will be met with some caring co-workers who wish you the best.

I'm on the other end.. and worried to go to the hospital because of the aftermath (going back to work and the people asking questions)

Thanks for the kind thoughts. Everything went pretty good, no major surprises. Only one person involved an encounter that was awkward. Not too bad.
