My medications are Depakote, Wellbutrin and citalopram. Guess that's one way to list em even though my medications are listed different ways. I looked on the internet, again as I have done before, and the listed "side effects" jump out at me. There are so many I can not list them all. My medications seem right choice early on in my treatment for BPII. Has anyone had side effects that needed brought to a doctors attention?

Are you asking if anyone has had side effects to those particular medications? Or medications in general? I've had side effects to other medications such as blurred vision and tremors among others. But if you're not having any side effects now then you shouldn't worry. You're one of the lucky ones.

I guess any medications, even ones I do not use now or ever. I believe the depakote can and does add some weight as stated on internet. My hands can tremor at times all of a sudden. Maybe just one or both and when I try to write and it happens, it can be annoying. I sleep OK and can rest in the day at times.
There could be other things taking please (inside) I do not know about. I hope yours can be managed much better.

I was on Depakote for a while, but discontinued use when the side effects got to be to much for me. I had tremors, constant sleepiness, and bladder issues.

All resolved once I discontinued use.

I think it varies so much per individual. I wouldn't let the list of side effects worry you too much unless you start experiencing them. I am also on Depakote and Wellbutrin and haven't noticed anything serious, except for anxiety when I was on too high a dose of Wellbutrin.

Also, I've actually been losing weight despite Depakote's bad reputation for weight gain.

I forgot to say, dumb me, I think my memory is not as sharp as it once was. I seem to be forgetting things all the time. Like sometimes my wife will get unhappy about it at times. Another whole subject is "WHY" my wife will say to me. Why this or that, why didn't you do such an such. Why's are expressed rather loudly. And many times I can forget seconds after I am told something. I just let it roll over me, but inside me it annoys me, and I do get tried of the why's. One reason must be I stay at home, and my wife is very busy with our house being built, and it's been hard on her with so much details, things not in, things done wrong, wrong things shipped, and all that yuck. Perhaps she will get better when we move. She has accepted very well me being BPII. Our commercial rental business my wife now watches over because it gives me the creeps. I have a hard time meeting with some people, rather. how do you say fearful. It's kind of hard to understand now the first 62 years of your life were not spent as it should have been because of being BP.

Thanks Mitziez for this info. It seems many times I have to go take a leak all of a sudden. I am glad to know changes can be made in medications. Hope you are doing much better.

Tipper1492 Thanks! I'm doing much better now! I did switch from Depakote to Tegretol. The bladder issue did resolve. So far I've had little to no side effects from the Tegretol!

A word of caution: be careful self-diagnosing on the internet. I'm currently fighting 14 different types of cancer according to my Mayo clinic symptom checker.
