Sometimes when people express pleasure i feel hostile. They'll rant and rave about how great a thing is and all i want to do i crush the thing for them. I resist, because it's very anti-social, but does anyone else have this reaction?

Yes, but only when I'm very depressed, like I am now. Just finished training at a new job, and everyday these 5 other women are all chatting about all this random, positive stuff... I just wanted to strangle them. I actually distracted myself by coming to this forum and writing some responses. It also doesn't help that my tendency to think most people are idiots tends to aggravate me further, especially when people are "ranting and raving" about this or that. I HATE idle small talk. Even when hypomanic, my conversations need SOME kind of substance otherwise instant irritation ensues. Grrr.

I agree when very depressed I want to strangle people that are jabbering about clothes and make-up. Gag!

The entire month of July I felt this way. Everyone posting all their summer fun.....ugh-I had to stay away from fb for awhile, then it came by phone! I found myself flipping the phone off when certain people would call before I even heard their voices! The happier they sounded, the angrier I felt. Has only gotten slightly better
