When people talk of side effects of meds, like feeling tired, and weight gain. Do those side effects ever go away? Or are they constant? Surely they must fade with time? My pdoc only wants to recommend me Seroquel, but because of ED issues (that I still need to speak to her about) I don't want to take it incase of weight gain, and the grogginess because I cycle everywhere.
Do those side effects fade?

I can't really measure the weight gain because I started meds around the same time as I got sober and food has been somewhat of a replacement. As for the seroquel grogginess, it started to fade after a week or so and by the middle of week three it could be counteracted by moderate caffeine consumption. As with anything YMMV.

Also, I just had little mental giggle when I realized, given the forum we're on, what you actually meant by 'cycle everywhere'. Haha.

Sometimes the side effects do in fact fade away... But some never go away .. There are some AP's that are weight neutral .. My expeirance with Seroquel was 20 lb weigh gain in 4 weeks .. It triggered my ED to the moon ... But everyone reacts differently to medications.. I know a few people that have lost weight taking it..

If your on a med and the side effects are not tolerable for you just tell your Pdoc you need to try something else .

I gained a lot of weight on it. It made me wanna eat non stop. And it would knock me out when I would take it and it'd sleep for about 12 hours ( lexapro and seraquil were the first medications I was put on at age 14). It didn't get better for me...I had to change it...and the lexapro didn't help my depression any. I wish u well. Good luck. :-)
