How do you handle it when you feel like crap and then you start talking to a friend and they say theyre having suicidal thoughts? I went into protection mode for in the same instance that I want to self-harm. Its hard. I don't want her to do anything harmful...like die..but I want to see blood. She promised shed be safe so I let it go and gave her a crisis number and suggested she join PC.

Im so sick of all this ****. I just want to be 'normal.' im tired of dealing with all the crap we deal with to function.

im tired.

of it all.

I've learned the hard way that when you're drowning you're no good to your friend that's drowning. As hard as it may be, you have to take care of yourself first. I've seen by your posts that you're struggling. Self care is so important. You need to focus on yourself.

I get being sick and tired. I've been feeling the same way for awhile now. All the efforts I've been trying to make just don't seem to be working very well. It's discouraging to say the least. I always say the same thing, "I just want to be normal". I've given up on that one.

So I go on day after day riding the wave. What else are we going to do?

I think its a case of balancing your situation and trying to be there for your friend.. Sometimes its just not possible you have to take care of you , other times it can be good to get out of your own head and help someone else.

Only you can make that choice. I hope both you and your friend are doing better

I think she is ok and she asked if I was going to be. She struggles all the time, like me. Ive known her for like 16 yrs-since middle school.
Thanks for this!
