My pDoc has changed my DX from bipolar 2 to bipolar 1 with mixed episodes.
I'm also on the med-go-round. It feels like no one really knows what's going on, not even the professionals.
Grrrrr...

Yes, my diagnosis changed from Major Depressive Disorder to Bipolar 1 with psychotic features to Schizoaffective Disorder Bipolar Type. This is the one that fits best and I've been doing great on the medication for it. Also, it took quite awhile to find the right combo of meds.

Its not uncommon to have a diagnosis changed . its mainly about treating the symptoms.. It can be annoying to think your diagnosis X then it gets changed to Z .. One Pdoc form the next may have a different diagnosis. Mental health is so tricky to nail down .. Its an ever changing blob of emotions.

I started out with a dx of Major Depressive Disorder, then changed to Bipolar NOS, to BP 2, and finally to BP 1 as the picture became more clear. I also have anxiety but my pdoc considers it to be part of my BP. He doesn't really believe in loading people up with a bunch of psychiatric diagnoses.

I'm really, really, starting to believe this panic thing is tied to mania. It's 5:15 am, I've only slept a couple of hours and I'm also having a lot of the panic symptoms. I've been taking klonopin, but it's not even making me drowsy, I'm too wired for that.

I had to stop lamictal last week due to swelling. So right now I'm not on anything for bipolar and the anxiety is through the roof.

I'm thinking the panic is a physical manifestation of mania....not a separate disorder, after all. At least for me.
