No meds and no therapy for me.

Meds helped for awhile but I recently made the decision to go off of them and I'm doing better than ever.

Therapy has proven worse than useless for me personally. Pffft.
Thanks for this!

Meds and therapy for me. I don't know what I'd do without either one. I wouldn't presume to speak for anyone other than myself, but medication opened the door to recovery; therapy enabled me to walk through it and see what's on the other side.

Thank you everyone who has responded. I am a new member and just kind of wanted to get a feel for where everyone was at.

I have had one manic episode. I tried to be med free for 6 months or so after that. Then I tried meds. I definitely rely on my meds now. Also therapy. I had a severe mental "shake up" after the manic attack.

I am also in therapy.

For me, I want to be the best parent/-person I can be. I would also like to have 1 successful romantic relationship before I die. LOL

For this reason, I am on meds and in therapy!

If you can manage without, great.
I need both at the moment.

I am replying from my iPhone, so I will be brief. I am on meds. They are working for the most part. But I cannot afford to try to be off my meds right now. I just have too much at stake in my personal life. I cannot afford another episode that I am avoiding by taking meds. If I end up in the hospital , I will lose my mother due to APS, and the care of my daughter to her mother, which would be a major setback for her. There is simply too much riding on me being functional. So I will not take risks for the foreseeable future.
