I started Latuda 5 days ago, and feel more depressed than ever. It also makes me hot and sweaty. Anybody have any ideas on how long it takes for this med to "kick in" and make me feel human? Also, do the sweats go away? I'm real discouraged now. I take 40 mg of Latuda and 100 mg of Lamictal. Just got off Seroquel and Abilify, which had quit working for me.

Hi Hottie! Thanks so much for this information. I feel more hopeful! Does the sweating go away?

Thanks, loophole. Yes, I read that shakes are a side effect. So far, though, I don't have that. Sounds like for you they diminished over time with Latuda? The weather has been hot here. I have air conditioning, but it doesn't completely cool down my apartment. Hoping the sweats will diminish this week when the weather is supposed to cool down.

It took about 2 weeks for the major jaw issues to go away.. still have an odd jaw twitch that I can't even feel but people will see my jaw flexing rapidly. ..

Yes the sweating and bipolar depression go away! If it's still not working you might need a higher dose. For me everything depends on finding the right med cocktail and right dosages!

That's an unfortunate side effect. Not being you, I don't know what that would be like, but it sounds like you handle it very well!

I had the sweating bad, it seemed to fade though. It started working for me at about 2 weeks like hottie said. I'm thinking of going back on it actually but a lower dose. Anyway I also lost 20lbs on it.

Thanks, sunshine. I hope the sweating stops, though. I have to shower twice a day now, and it's uncomfortable most of the time, day and night.
