Does anyone find their meds give them diarrhea or make it worse? I've read that antipsychotics can cause diarrhea. I guess it's more common that meds give constipation.

I spent about $100 today at the mall on diarrhea rememdies. I got Imodium, good gut bacteria and fiber supplement. I look forward to better health in this regard.

I find i just can't eat anything. Everything sets me off.

Are you sure it's b/c of your medication? Even a little bit of stress can trigger stuff like this.
Thanks for this!

Sorry that happens to you! I've been on psychotropic medications for years now and thankfully never had that as a side effect!

Isn't it true, not sure, that people with mental illness have gut problems because of the stress? Both my sister and I have IBS.

Have you called your Pdoc about this ... Its not typical to have to go spend 100.00 on stomach meds to deal with a AP that apparently you cant tolerate.

Antipsychotics don't generally cause diarrhea. Usually they have the opposite effect.

Some anitpsychotics have lactose in them. Could you be lactose intolerant?

It is worth getting checked out because there are many different causes of diarrhea.
