I don't mean to scare you but Ambien made me extremely suicidal in just two days. Please be careful with it.

Ambien was not good for me either.. also I could fall asleep standing up but 20 minutes after falling asleep I'd wake up and be buzzing the rest of the night. ...

Ambien has caused maybe people to sleep walk and sleep drive etc... Since you had such a strong reaction , certainly dont take it again and let your Pdoc know asap

Good luck

Ambien works on the neurotransmitter gaba. It's similar to a benzo, without the anxiolytic properties.

I took an extra ambien once. I sleepwalked all night. Took half the bottle of ambien and other meds without knowing. I fell, broke my nose, was taken to the hospital by ambulance, xrayed, discharged, took a shower, slept and the next day I woke up with no recollection of anything. I will never take it again!

A friend of mine took it every day for a year. He did hallucinate once.

I know numerous ppl that do not do well on it. Really bad night terrors and weird dreams. Not sure I met anyone that has really stated they did good on it. I hope you do though. If so, please keep us in the loop. Thoughts!

I took it a few times while I was still on benzos. As far as I know, nothing bad happened but my psychiatrist at the time told me never to take it again (he didn't prescribe it) because it worked on the gaba receptors like the benzos and would increase my tolerance.
