I have been to the dr and have had a physical and blood work etc. I am fine. I always feel sick though. Mainly a general achiness that reminds me of the flu. Other times horrible fatigue and a general sense of yuckiness. In the past I have made up or exagerated illnesses to avoid social situations, and after all these years my husband is so tired of it. I seem to complain about a physical ailment every day, but I really do physically feel like crap. He said it is all in my head- it may be- but my body legitimately doesn't feel good.

Have you heard the commercial "Depression hurts"? It does. Your muscles hurt, your tired All The Time! You just plain ol feel horrible.
Believe it or not exercising helps. Taking a walk, yoga... something light and easy. I have not been to the gym in over a month. I can feel the difference. I head back tomorrow for yoga. Im telling ya, it works. I hope you feel better soon.

I was hoping to mention that too. Depression can make you feel plain horrible. Keeping active and eating healthy will help. Get those endorphins going and it helps you feel a bit happy.

My depression always starts that way long before my thoughts go south.

Yes. Usually I don't feel well and there is no good reason why.

Depression does not make sense a lot of the time when I feel it. It just happens. It does make me feel physically poor. That is when I know I have to do something. Difficult, but I force movement.

Yes, I was just thing about it seconds before reading this thread. I woke up from a nap and thought: "Man, I feel awful....again." Depression is brutal. I don't have a good solution, but right now sipping on coffee and hot chocolate seems to help!

Greetings ozzy .. and yep I used to feel right crappy all the time .
Was even angry at my dr for not figuring out what was wrong ... then my sister ( a nurse) told me to get on the Vitamin B complex and vitamin D. Well, I honestly do feel better, so, give it a try... there is a lot of information on this really helping people like us ... google it. Good luck to you. |

Right now I feel sick. Its like I am coming down with the flu. I feel this way frequently when I am depressed.
By the way, I am going to take vitamins. My body is low on vitamin B12 anyways.

Fibromyalgia is a pretty common add on to mental illness .. I know .. I have it. Maybe ask your Doctor about it there are a couple meds that some people find helpful.

My thoughts are in line with Christina's as I have Fibromyaligia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Your symptoms are in line with at least one of them although I do agree that all these symptoms come with depression too so it is all a bit confusing. A Rheumatologist diagnosed me when I was fairly well mentally. Diet and exercise are really important in treating all of the above so you would do well to try to add that to your treatment plan.
