Hi
My original dx was major depression severe recurrent and PTSD. Just, last session I was dx'ed with Bipolar and PTSD. However, the bipolar I am currently in a agitated manic state. PDoc has just added a new medication , lamictal but its going to take awhile to work. He has started me off on 25mg. He said that over time he will bring me up to 100mg or 200mg. Has anyone experienced any change on 25mg? I feel better knowing what Im experiencing. Thanks for listening all!!

I didn't notice an ounce of help until I got to 175mg. 25mg was basically like a sugar pill. But, it's necessary to start out really slowly with lamotrigine, because you don't want to risk the rash. So, no matter HOW impatient you get, do not up your dosage before you should.

It'll take a while at 100 I was okay. I'm at 150 mg and Im going to ask to go up to 200.

I began to notice a difference at 75 mg, and then again at 125. It does take a while to work, but don't be surprised if it's a little activating---I got hypomanic at 175 and again at 250. Eventually, however, things should even out.....which of course is the purpose of the medication.
