I've currently on a leave from work due to a breakdown. My family doctor has had me on wellbutrin Xl 300mg and 1mg Ativan 4xs for my mood swings and depression. My first post here was about my first manic moment. I can tell my wellbutrin works because the things that normally would agitate me, don't bother me much anymore which is huge. Now I was sent to a PDoctor and he said it sounds bipolar but wanted to run blood work and heart scan (why, I have no idea, lol)and see him next week for a review of medication to take. Well, I'm not sure I want anymore meds. I still have off days with my meds now but it is a lot better than how I was. The only thing really is maybe upping my dose of Ativan cause my anxiety is really bad when in public still. But he's saying meds like lithium. Well, now I'm scared. If I really do need something else, what is the best choice that will most likely not effect my sex drive. Being on wellbutrin has increased it and the wife loves it so to,have it completely leave would be the death of me.

Your Dr may keep you on the Wellbutrin and add either a mood stabilizer or anti psychotic but you'd have to talk to your Dr about it. Lithium is one of many options and an option I try to avoid. Look into your insurance to see what's available to you. Research those options and narrow it down to the three least scariest.
