...but it's not new to me! I just read I Hate You Don't Leave Me. Wow, what a scary book! Mt therapist noticed my BPD traits and informed me. I concur. I'm going to start DBT and IOP. Any advice? I'm kind of scared! Thanks, everyone.

I apologize. I'm new to PsychCentral, too. I'm used to posting in this forum because I'm bipolar. I will post my query in the appropriate location. Hank you for the redirection, BeteNoir. Cheers!

If, and when your medications starts working, you will feel much better. I do. My advice, because I had to in order for it not to interfere with my medications, gave up all alcohol, any mind controlling drugs, except what the doctor gives to you. As a great self gift, I stopped smoking, including pot which I only did when I was alone in B.C. Canada short times last three or four years trips. Just doing there helped me feel much better about self, and my health feels better. I was self medicating before I was diagnosed BP II. I list these because it became so important to me, however I wonder if people much younger than I would have a harder time doing the same. When younger I did too much partying.

I agree with the above poster - you were looking for the borderline forum as this is what your central question revolve around.

I've responded to your post in the borderline forum.

Bear in mind there are a few with a dx of bp and bpd here.

I guess it is a matter of figuring out when your posting something about bpd and when you're posting about bp. I use both forums but for different reasons.

Hope that helps.

Tipper1492, you must be a history buff. May I ask which meds you are referring to? I just started Lamotragine. Is that one you found helpful? It's only been 3 days. Thank you for your reple. Cheers!
