I don't know if you've seen this documentary about Adam Ant's struggle with BP. It will probably strike a chord with everyone on here.

One point that surprised me was to hear one of the psychiatrists in the film describe BP as being mood swings from very HAPPY to very sad. What chance do his patients have if he thinks mania = happiness? Maybe he was speaking without thinking and didn't really mean that. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Anyway, I was a BIG fan of AA when I was a teen, so finding out years ago that he had the same illness as me gave me some strength. I think it was very brave of him to make this documentary. It would be brave if it were made today, but at the time it was made (2003) even more so.

Thanks for this!

Thanks for the link. I like reading about Justin Furstenfeld because he's very honest about his dealing with bp and his songs hit a chord as well.

This is also good. Thanks. I remember when he ran off because the play he was in was too much for him. I was glad when he turned up again safe and sound.

Jeremy Brett is someone else who had BP that I really liked. I saw him on stage - he was brilliant. His meds supposedly caused his early death.
