So, I'm depressed right now and my depressions can go low and I have been delusional before (that's not the funny part, so don't laugh yet). Well, I have been wondering if I am just moderately depressed or worse, so i am constantly "evaluating" my state of mind.

Well, last night I was too tired to cook so I grabbed take-out. On my way out, I barely noticed the person I passed by, but her image registered in my mind as "random older lady carrying a big purse". Well, seconds later I heard a full-on cat squeal sound coming from the random older lady carrying a big purse. Instantly, I thought, oh crap, I must be really depressed because now I'm hallucinating animal sounds.

Well, only a second or two passed and I turned around only to notice that the "big purse" was really a small animal carrier, and the lady carrying it was going to the vet that happened to be in this random strip mall.

I couldn't help but laugh. I sincerely thought for a short time that I was hallucinating. I also truly thought I'd have to make a quick call for an appointment with the pdoc. I thought I would share the story for anyone else who has a twisted sense of humor, like I do.

Absolutely well done Middlepath.

In the middle of a horrible depressive state, you have managed to find humor and be able to laugh at yourself. I think that is fantastic.

You know I'm going to think of that everytime I walk past my cat carrier now don't you........
