Just wanting to know of those people having their dosages increased on lamictal. I'm going from 200mg daily to 300mg (100mg in the morning 200mg at night)

Did anyone notice significant mood changes(control of anger) when upping the dose?

Anyone have positive or negative effects?

Thanks

When I went from 100 to 200 (my current dose) it helped with my depression. I don't have significant anger issues so I can't help you there. No significant side effects, or any at all for that matter.

I recently went from 300 to 400 mg, and I have to say that it's had a positive effect; I'm still depressed but not suicidal like I was when I went IP on Halloween. Besides, my depression is situational---my life has fallen apart and my husband and I are about to be homeless. That would be enough to make anyone depressed (and anxious).

yeah sorry to hear that. Mine is situational as well. Me and wife seperated about 2 months ago. Planning to resolve it soon. But told Dr whole circumstance and he still decided to bump it up. Been on lamictal for 3 years. Its been an amazing medicine for me overall

Im hoping to see a positive effect, i hope when i see my pdoc next that he ups it, im on 100mg at the moment with nothing still, my rage is still quite out of control, in the last couple of months i've almost broken my right hand 3 times, been manic & smashed a mirror just to bleed while laughing hysterically, reached euphoria & felt like i was gonna jump out of my own skin from so much energy racing through me, mixed meds & painkillers like morphine just to get a high when im down, going into a trance when the psychosis rears its ugly head & waking up with knives & meds scattered on my floor & cuts with no memory of anything...i feel like im living "the hangover" movie at times, i feel like im at the end of my tether =(

200mg twice/day

Lamictal has saved my life, and I really do mean that I am
here today because of it

The only negative. I cannot get enough to drink
It makes me so thirsty

So sorry to hear that you may be homeless soon! I've been on the verge of homelessness before. So stressful.
Thanks for this!

I kind of stopped at 200mg.

Only reason cos when I was upping and on 225mg - didn't notice any difference.

And it's so expensive here ... (For someone who's not working)

I struggle with anger and Lamictal has helped a lot. When I stopped taking Cymbalta, it seemed like I was pissed all of the time. I still deal with anger issues but not like I did. I recall one time, before I was taking a sufficient dosage at Lamictal, I was approached in the WalMart parking by a person panhandling. She had new jeans and I, on the other hand, was just getting by on eating beans and 50 cent boxes of macaroni and cheese. I became furious and started screaming obscenities at her. When I finally got into my vehicle I just sat there, stunned at what I'd just done. The Lamictal has helped a lot in preventing that kind of behavior.

I have just gone from 200 to 300, in an effort to control my anxiety frustration levels and sui idealizations. I felt a difference within a day of upping the dosage. Other than the usual side effects (dizzieness, headache and achne) which I get with just about every medication when I change dosages, it has worked really well. I have nothing but good things to say about Lamictal (Lamotrigine here)
