I'm lucky - he spends 30 minutes with me each time. I had a nice appointment in which he confirmed I have severe bipolar I (I always ask because I'm always thinking it has changed).

Anyway, the funny part is when he told me my cats are the most stable individuals in the household. LOL. So true (husband Aspberger's, son autism, me bipolar).

I thought it was hilarious. I have a great pdoc.

Awesome.

I've learnt the hard way that there's nothing like a great pdoc. It goes a long way.
Thanks for this!

I'm so glad you like your psychiatrist. Does he also see other's in your family?

You're so lucky to have a good doctor. I do too---he has a wicked sense of humor, but he's also really, really good at managing me, and I know that can't be easy. He's studied me VERY thoroughly and never forgets details about me and my life.....I don't know how he does it. I know he reviews his notes, but I mean this guy remembers what I eat for breakfast and what I said six months ago. That's why I call him Dr. Awesomesauce in my blog.

That's fantastic Polibeth. If you can have someone who is willing to see the whole picture (you and your family) and who you can trust and talk to as an equal, then you have found a real gem of a doctor. Make sure you hang onto him!!

Perhaps I should get his name.....does he practice in Australia...lol
