Just recalled, many times mom would write a check to someone, or company, then Void the check's stub, and tear up the check. Like it must have indicated she felt insecure or something. Anyone seen this in their parents?

nope

my mom got sick and was bed ridden for about 11 years she order so much stuff from QVC we were in debt for years after her death (and we returned about 75% of the stuff as it hit the house)

only time i ever sawl them void a check is when they thought something was wrong with the work they paid for to force the person to contact them and make it right or to use the money at another place

No I never counted mom's money, and she wrote all the checks for the small business we had. I didn't ever know the accounts balance. It just seem to me she wanted such perfection in everything, ever her hand writing wasn't up to par. Another thing she might say to me, "why can't you be like so & so"? Like she admired, and wanted to be with the up and up rich people. However I never had to dress up, but she always was.

Step-father already passed away, then mom did. In her will I was made Executor and I had an older brother & sister. That can be very tricky, but I carried out her will, by her attorney, as she requested. For some reason, for untold years, mom and my older sister never saw I to I. Other extended family members funerals always had problems, and disagreements between mom & daughter. I think sister was closer to one very rich brother of mom, than she was. Crazy stuff always going on between the two.

It wasn't too hard keeping up. While in high school I received a brand new Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396, and not long after installed Holly 780 cfm duel fed carborator (all four big holes dump fuel in at same time) powered up Holley fuel pump, 373 rear end, 425 hp camshaft. It would break traction at 30 MPH & sink your eye balls. Oh high rise Offenhauser in take manifold. Nine inch wide special mags wheels & tires.

Traded it in on a Trumph TR6 which was a blast in the mountains.
