My fluoxetine was spiked another 5 mg. due to capsule amount. Now I've been up for 2 days in a manic fervor. I'm doubling my anti psychotic tonight to get some sleep.

Hello AlwaysChanging2: I hope you're able to get that night's sleep you're looking for. This situation sounds like something that would be good to speak with your prescribing physician about...

Hope the extra AP helps you sleep and that the mania passes soon. If not I would also recommend seeing your pdoc as soon as possible. Take care.

All meds effect everyone differently, but I think the vast majority of people with Bipolar Disorder (especially BP1) I see they get manic with antidepressants. I was manic most of my youth on SSRIs, Welbutrin was a little better but caused a major increase in anxiety. This was all before my bipolar 1 diagnosis.

Then I was put on Zyprexa and they switched me from Welbutrin to Lamictal, which is amazing!! It's a mood stabalizer, but totally pulled me out of a major depression. I have lots of mixed episodes, so I need the Zyprexa/Lamictal combo.

I hope you got some sleep. Maybe ask about Lamictal?

Prozac sent me into a mania that was so bad I lost my job. Lamictal has been working for me, too, though recent stressors have weighed me down and I'm going to ask to go back on a low dose of Wellbutrin, which doesn't send me out of my mind.

Sounds like you've got a pretty good plan, and i hope you got some sleep. Beware of mania when your sleep starts getting elusive.

Yeah! Finally got some good sleep

Lamictal stabilizes me on the depressed side, so I need a touch of anti-d to at least get back to baseline. I need 25 mg of Prozac, not 30 mg. gotta cut them 10s in half, that's all.

OMG! I went in for depression and was prescribed Welbutrin which cycled me hard, so I go back in because the depression was harder so they prescribed an even higher dose. This happened a few more times. I always thought the feel good mood (mania) was the bodies response of coming out of depression. Lol

This went on for 2 years I was nutz.
