So, on 12/18 my pdoc (psychiatrist right?) lowered my Luvox from 300mg to 200mg to ease me off an awesome ride of no sleep, shopping frenzy, no eating, higher than life manic phase. It was to mainly help me sleep and cut down the shopping spree but keep me evenly happy and not crash.

Well... shopping is a little better I will admit but mainly cause I ran out of things to sell! Sleep is still horrible! I am up all night on my iPad. My mood has changed somewhat where I am happy but not constantly high and I am noticing some snappy-ness and moodiness coming out and I have had a few days where I have eaten everything in sight and then I go back to not wanting to eat anything all day. Basically, I'm all over the place is what im trying to say I guess. Some days I love everyone... Some days I have that "you all are dumb asses" mentality! But I haven't hit a sad point yet, which is all that matters right now so I can deal with anything!

Since I'm new with the BP diagnosis I guess my question is what "phase" do you think I am going through now? Does this sound like a mixed phase? I'm just curious what you all think as I have started a journal and am keeping track of all my feelings and moods. Sorry this is so long so if you're still reading, thanks for your time and advice! Oh, is there a med I could mention to doc when I see him next week anyone takes specifically for sleep? I have tried advil PM and it does nothing!

You could be mixed for sure , how it presents is different in everyone. But If I were a medical doctor which I am not .. I would vote for Mixed.

My mix is like me on day 5 of not a wink of sleep on the bathroom floor scrubbing it with a toothbrush hysterical crying and raging at the world while wishing I have a 20 story window to "fall" out of. It's ugly hateful angry hurt sad mix of pure hell on earth.

You may just need an adjustment to your medications or a new one, best to contact your Pdoc asap, I see your appointment is next week , you really should call as soon as the office is open ( yeah holidays are messing with offices being open) and advise them about how your feeling and certainly advise them that your just not able to sleep, No sleep and us Bipolars can often be found swinging around light poles wear bunny costumes

Stay safe
