I want to start taking a diet pills. Because 1.) I put on 50+ lbs on a medication last year and 2.) I want some energy.
But diet pills are probably a bad idea, ya? Mania and what not?

They're definitely not a good Idea. Not even for regular people. I would suggest low physical workouts like walking around the block a few times or any other low impact exercise. Any diet pill that contains a stimulant can be dangerous if you are taking an antidepressant that is stimulating. The two mixed together can lead to a rapid heartbeat, mood swings, and even stroke or heart attack.
Before taking any weight-loss supplement, you should check with your doctor or pharmacist to ensure it is safe for you. |

Weight Watchers is a great support for this. I find the points plan to be most helpful for me. If you can't afford Weight Watchers, then I suggest you try MyFitnessPal. I'm not able to post links yet, but just go to www myfitnesspal com.

I just started Topamax which is approved as a weight loss pill and also doctors prescribe it for bipolar. It's taking away my appetite well, although it's making me foggy.

I've managed to loose 20 pounds over the last 6 month which is weight I have been carrying for 10 plus years. For me I have been walking more and only having one main meal a day. When I get hungry I eat a piece of fruit and have one or two cups of tea with no sugar, which gives the sensation of being full. That coupled with low impact exercise like walking has worked well. It takes about 6 weeks to get your stomach to start shrinking, so the longer you keep at it the less you eat and the easier it becomes to eat less as it takes less to feel full.
The other secret is to not weigh yourself too often as the scales can lie, especially when you start converting fat to muscle. Better to tell your weight through how your clothes feel, tight to loose.... Most of all just stick with it. If you exercise, eat less and eat the right things you will loose weight. There are plenty of good apps for you phone that help count the calories too.

I lost a lot of weight by counting calories.
It's hard in the beginning, but it really works. It really becomes easier with time. Believe me, if I can do it, anybody can. lol ![]()

I am 27 years old, 5'3 and my regular weight is 120 (with muscle) I overall eat healthy, and exercise. After medication I rapidly gained 15 + pounds. SO I decided (weeks ago) to stop taking the meds for personal reasons and buy over the counter diet pills. I bought the pills last week but only took it once because I got sick. I understand the "negative" side effects but I NEED to get rid of the extra tummy weight so I'm going to try taking them soon. In the meantime, I just started my first spinning class tonight with my sister. It was definitely a work out! I decided that I NEED to go back on meds because without them I'm way too unstable so I'm going to talk to my psychiatrist and see what options are out there.....

I guess I mainly want to take them because they'd give me more energy. It's not even mostly about the weight. I feel tired all the time. It's hard to get things done. I want something stronger than just coffee.

A good way to lose Meds induced weight gain .... Drop out all the carbs ( they make me feel down mentally anyway) Do lean protein and tons of veggies(endless amounts).. Increase you fluid intake.
Of course add any kinda exercise or just blast some music and dance around your living room. Good luck
