Hi Gang,

I see many of you have PTSD and Bipolar, and I often wonder about some of the back story and how they might be related. My last full blown episode of mania had psychotic features and hallucinations and was by far the most horrifying experience of my life. It's been over two years now and while searching for the right meds and a lot of therapy, I thought a lot about PTSD as part of the problem to consider and look to heal from.

My Pdoc says that it always takes at least a year maybe two to recover from a brain chemistry perspective on the Bipolar front. I still deal with anxiety from it all, worried I might freak out again into another break etc.

What are some of your PTSD/Bipolar perspectives? Thanks,

moogs

I have PTSD and panic attacks which are terrifying but I'm not Bipolar so I can't be much help to you. Hopefully some of the others will read your post and give you a better perspective.
Thanks for this!
