Hi all !

I have recently become aware that I am possibly in danger of becoming
an overly introverted self absorbed bipolar bore.

I would hate to think that I am constantly boring others with my bipolar
problems and ideas on how to possibly try to fix others problems.

With the best will in the world I am only trying to suggest alternative
treatments that could possibly help .

Please don't shoot me I am only the messenger.

Hi fingers1

Have you been diagnosed with bipolar? Being bipolar and boring really don't go together. Bipolar people are witty and full of energy on the upswing. If you have friends who support you, they won't think you are boring. Sometimes people can't relate very well but boring just doesn't come to my mind. I have been around a lot of people with bipolar and they are not boring. Best wishes and keep posting!
Thanks for this!

Hi fingers1

I see on your profile your primary concern is Bipolar.

It's great that you want to support others.

It's up to them if they want to listen. You know how the saying goes. You can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

I guess we all have different coping mechanisms.

What works for some works for others.

What works for some doesn't work for others.

All part of being unique.

my BP is nothing but Boering. If anything it keeps me changing and ppl guessing around me. I do know from personal experience that it is not good to be so focused on dx that you begin to live the stereotypical ways because of being so I tuned you forget that you are a person first and bp second. When I do not fixate on bp, I live. When I fixate, I forget to live and let things be as they are. Things and ppl are ppl and nothing more. My advice to myself and any one else is to live your life, enjoy your time, and accept things for face value instead of over analyzing every thing.

Since I was diagnosed with BP1 18 months ago I have become obsessed with treatment options and when I am at on the BP scale every day, or minute. For a while I did bore my friends and family with constant talk of how I was BP wise but I seem to have mellowed out a bit now as I can see it is not what they want to chat about. So I come here instead. I am so glad this site exists.

I am the exact opposite, personality wise. I am chatty Cathy when my roommate gets home from work and I pretty much talk constantly from about 7pm-bedtime every day.

But I don't leave the house much (boring) and I don't like to go to parties/events (boring). I play video games (boring to most). I enjoy working alone in my office and not being bothered (boring to everyone).

But in general, when I'm around my roommate and closest friends, I'm a comedian and jokester and witty and no one would ever suspect I deal with the kind of mood changes I do. Most of my depressive states are when I'm spending too much time at home and being boring.

Not always though. When I'm going through a depressive stage, I have no energy and can't laugh or enjoy ANYTHING. And those phases last for weeks sometimes.
