Seen my pdoc today as a follow up to the hospital visit, you know, with the pdoc on call that was the last one I wanted to see because I didn't want him to find out about it, but there he was committing me.
This would be our 5th appointment meeting. He said sorry he should of caught my mania. He said I was talking paranoid the last few visits- I didn't notice. I told him we don't really know each other that well yet so I don't see how he woulda caught it. He was happy to hear that the med increase has brought me back down to earth. He was also excited to hear that the need to drink had instantly disappeared. I told him I needed a therapist referral, and he asked why? I told him I'd rather not say because I need a woman therapist to talk to. I was happy with myself for stepping up like that. Confrontations make me disassociate real bad. All in all, it was a good day. ![]() |

Always, that sounds like you had a good day! Glad the meds are grounding you firmly in the earth! lol
Congrats on your assertiveness. Did he give you a therapist request? Maybe he was wanting to know what area of mental health was your concern so he could recommend someone in the field. Yayyy for good days.

I have a hard time talking to male figures, so I wouldn't/couldn't tell him. Besides, I'm still on the fence about firing this guy. In the past appointments I perceived some negative facial expressions while I was talking to him. I didn't like that. |

Wow, congrats on the telling him you prefer a woman therapist. It is understandable, and within your right.
He sounds like he did his job and is asking the right questions. Don't let yourself decide what his facial expressions mean, you only just met him recently. When in doubt - ask. I make a lot of facial expressions and even my husband who I have known daily for over 8 years responds incorrectly to my facial expressions often.
