He hangs around your house for prolonged periods and sits on your lap when you sit in your chair or settee. He also lies on top of you when you
are in your bed.
Its so hard to get up and do anything.

I see my elephant more in the evening than in the morning. And he is so heavy I can barely breath.

Yes, Mister Elephant and me are firm friends some times. I tried to encourage him to leave and give me back my energy and ability to function but he steadfastly refuses. Then some day I wake up and he is gone, which is wonderful but I am always anxious about when he returns.

Sometimes he sits on my chest so heavily it hurts. I think my family knows the elephant has been hanging around with me lately but they don't know how close we have become

My elephant never sat on me, it was more like he grabbed my ankle with his truck and I spent my days hopping around trying not to fall.
