How does what happen?

How do we get / develop it?

The truth is, NOBODY KNOWS....

Google it, you'll see opinions and theories, but no concrete facts.

Main difference between the two types is mania. BP 1 = full-blown mania....The rest is pretty much the same, even though our experiences are quite individual.

Still I'm not at all sure I understand your question, so won't type any further incase I've got the wrong end of the stick.

have you been diagnosed with either? If so ask your psychiatrist which one you have and why. The diagnostic criteria is available online so you can see if your symptoms match but don't self-diagnose, it can be dangerous. Me, I have Bipolar 1 mostly due to the severity of my mixed states (so called dysphoric mania) rather than pure mania, so everyone is different. What is your experience like?
