So I've been on zyprexa for over a week now and I'm finally sleeping 8-9 hours. I'm taking 15 mgs at night.
I'm gonna kind of have this thread to monitor my sleep. Hope that's ok. It's weird I'm not as hungry on zyprexa as I was on Risperdal or seroquel. But I am taking metformin to help with weight gain. Maybe it's helping stabilize my blood sugars. ![]() |

Hi Sunshine. How are you?
Sounds like Zyprexa can go either way stimulate or suppress appetite. Psych Central - Search results for Zyprexa loss of appetite I eat 3-5 meals and snacks a day with protein in each snack or meal and it helps me stabilize emotions and maintain my weight.

Metformin in is for blood sugar right? I'm going to ask my doctor about that. I've never heard of anything to help with weight gain from psych meds. Except a diet of course

Yeah it's for ppl with diabetes 2 I think. Ugh! I may have spoke too soon about my sleep. I slept about 4 hours. But it might be bc I overslept the night before. And my sleep schedule is off. I think I'm just gonna stay up.

Well I'm sleeping pretty good thanks to the zyprexa, but I'm over eating too much. So I'm gonna try and get in with my pdoc and see about going on Invega or latuda. When I was on latuda before, it was too high of a dose I think, and that's what caused the horrible akathisia.
Anyway, just updating for myself... |
