I think this is a relatively new drug. Does anyone have any experience with it? I've been taking Lamictal/Trileptal/Neurontin for a long time now but am currently going off of the Lamictal to try the Latuda after an increase in side effects.
On that note, I've gone completely off 300mg Lamictal over the course of about 8 days, and the withdrawal is killing me!! Going to start taking Latuda tomorrow evening. Hope it will balance me back out. |

No appreciable antidepressant effect, terrible panic attacks upon withdrawal.. can I get sued for suggesting that Latuda blows? Asking for a friend.

Oh goodness, that sounds promising LOL Well if I it doesn't work out my pdoc said I can go back on the Lamictal. It's worked ok. I was just getting zoned out after I took it for a few hours sometimes. But I was taking all 300mg at one time, so I can try splitting it up. Also, it causes me to have a lot of acne. Totally not cool to be all pimpley faced when you're almost 30.

Latuda has been good for me.
Here is a review I did several weeks ago. Enjoy. http://forums.psychcentral.com/bipol...urasidone.html

I don't think my reaction is very common. But I got horrible akathisia on it. I was on a very high dose and a high dose of an AD. My new pdoc said that being on such a high dose of both increased the akathisia. Good luck with it.

I went through a lot of akathesia (couldn't sit still, felt like I had to run, leg jittering...) so I had my doctor take me off. He put me on Risperdal instead.

I only was able to sleep 4 hours a night on it. I woke up every hour in a cold sweat from vivid dreams. This lasted for 4 days and I was so exhausted so that I quit Latuda and went back to respiradal.

Thanks for the input everyone. The Lamictal withdrawl has been a little rough. I was super depressed the first several days and had insomnia. Surprisingly, I only had the weird head sensation (I don't have a logical way of describing it) I would get when I missed a dose one day, which was yesterday when I took none at all for the first time. Last couple of days I think I've had akathisia, which hasn't been all that bad for me after being so lethargic for so long. Starting new meds always makes me nervous, although not half as nervous as when my son has to start them. I just hope it doesn't cause weight gain because that would be a deal breaker. Fortunately, I am working from home tomorrow, so if I feel funky, at least I won't have to be at work.

I went off of lamictal to go on latuda and never missed a beat. I don't know how effective it is however. I don't feel any different.

Latuda was poison for me. Messed me up so bad I'm scared to try new meds.

Latuda works much better than Abilify for me, but I take lamictal and Latuda. I could tell a difference in my psychosis, but I'm on a pretty high dose, so take that as you will. :/

I take 40 mg once a day. I can honestly say that it's the first medication that has actually helped with most of my symptoms. I have to take it at night with my trazidone because it does cause some akathisia. The first time I took it I got a serious rush where I just wanted to run around and dance. Which was like a miracle since I was so deep in a spiraling depression for months. It's definitely a game changer. It also almost completely cut out my anxiety!!! Good luck !!

Has anyone ever felt hypomanic on this medication? I started taking it Thursday and have a ton of energy. I have to be up for work in 3 hours and don't even feel tired. Trying to force myself to go to bed when I feel like running. I'll take this any day over what I was though. No complaints. Just curious?
