I was looking for some inspiration for a project and somehow stumbled across this. The woman blames her actions on bipolar disorder. I was not impressed.
In fact, this made me quite angry.

Topless woman goes bonkers at Florida McDonald's | Blogs | Orlando Weekly

Yes, I know in Manic states people can do things they normally wouldn't, but this seems extreme and like it's mocking Bipolar in a way. They use the word "bonkers!" I cannot really express how angry this makes me.

The article doesn't even attempt to address what it is. THIS IS WHY Bipolar has a negative stigma! Because of people like this blaming every single action they do on Bipolar Disorder and we don't even know if she really has it. And then the media just blantly stating it was Bipolar without even a question or an explanation. They make us look crazy!!!

I agree that the media really exploits mental health disorders. And the bad thing is that a lot of people only read the hyped up stuff and not the educational stuff regarding mental health. I have been on a soapbox about this for years, first when I was diagnosed with depression in 1984 and was told by friends/well meaning people that I didn't have anything to be depressed about and second when I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2002. I continue to speak out and use my Facebook page to inform my friends, but ignorance can't be changed over night.

Thanks for posting.
