Has anyone ever developed a rash/acne from lithium?
I am wondering if it goes away like regular acne or if it will stick around until it is all out of my system.

It is really bugging me. It is all over both cheeks.

Yes, I developed acne on my cheeks also. It didn't go away until I dropped my dosage to subtherapeutic levels.

I was only on it for a week. I am off now. I literally got 10 bumps. My psychiatrist told me acne was not a side effect.

I had that problem the first 2-3 months, Gah .. Nothing like being 43 and breaking out like a 12 years old I did use OTC acne lotion that did help some. I know that prescription medications are more helpful , I just didn't have money for a dermatologist and medication back then. Tazorac is a medication a PC member used and it cleared her skin right up .. Maybe you could ask your Pdoc about it or your GP ...

I feel for you , I really do

I couldn't tolerate it. It was like poison to me.

Back to lamictal again.

Its like poison to me too but it does help a lot of people. Meds tend to come with side effects.

Mine was worse before I started taking an oral birth control bill so I think that helped me. I found using all natural soap also helps my skin,

Hope things get better!

Interesting side effect.

I didn't personally develop this whilst on Lithium, no (am currently on another ms) but thank you for sharing this with us.
