my question can geodon cause tardive dyskinesia..? yes..

can it occur while taking geodon ..? yes

can it occur after stopping geodon ...? yes

can it occur long after stopping geodon... ? yes

Am I full of it or are these true statements...

please anyone that knows please tell me.... you see my pdoc says since I just stopped last month it is too soon to have developed symptoms...by the way I took it for two years at 80mg...I say he is full of it....

It is possible but a lot more rare for Geodon.
Hope this helps!
I've been on it for a couple months and I'm fine so far!
*fingers crossed*
Take care

TD risk is real, but very very low with newer AAPs, Like Geodon. Permanent TD is ultra-rare with newer AAPs.

I think if you stopped and did not have any symptoms (Mouth or Tongue Spasms and Ticks) you are in the clear.

I have a very mild tongue tick from Latuda. I think.

I think you are more likely to develop symptoms while taking than afterwards. Who knows.

Nurse practitioner took me off of Zyprexa, and I ended up in the hospital because of a depressive episode. Doctor at the hospital was upset that they didn't replace it with something else because I needed one. Now I'm on Invega Sustena. I haven't had any side effects from it, and I feel better.

Its rare for geodon to cause the symptoms. I've been on it over 4 years now and not a symptom of TD in sight. Are you sure its not anxiety related?

I've been on Geodon for 2 years and I do have some fine tremors in both hands, but that didn't start till I added Zyprexa a year ago. It messes with my handwriting a bit and is worse when I'm tired. FWIW I think its because I'm on two APs, but I can't seem to do without them so I just deal with it.

I took lithium for over 3 years every blue moon would have fine tremors in both hands. I dumped that shyt over 6 months ago now , and I have more trouble now with tremors than I did while on the damn stuff. Nothing new was added.

All my research and discussions with my Pdoc all point to the fact I will most likely have this problem for life. This is just more proof that for me unless I am batshyt off the wall I will indeed stay far far away from psych meds.

I hope your problems resolve. You probably should been seen by a neurologist.
