(((Lunatic Fringe)))

I sometimes wonder this about other countries.

I am in Australia.

I guess certain aspects I hear about mental healthcare in the U.S. I sometimes think oh it is a bit better here.

And other aspects I hear about mental healthcase in the U.S. I think oh its a bit better there.

I've never done a detailed comparative analysis.

It's mere collation of listening to what people say regarding mental health care from their personal perspective.

This is just my personal opinion.

I am sure others may differ.

Thank you for asking.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the United States is the only industrialized nation that does not provide universal healthcare and ranks first in healthcare spending.

Heres the top countries according to the WHO ... I do not see the USA on the list Somehow that doesn't surprise me.

France
Italy
San Marino
Malta
Singapore
Spain
Oman
Austria
Japan
Norway
Portugal
Monaco
Greece
Iceland
Luxembourg
Netherlands
United Kingdom
Ireland

I'm not surprised either, doctors without borders now includes parts of USA as part of their tours because care can be so bad here. So many without insurance go without basic services. But I don't think DWB does mental health care, not sure though.

I forgot to ask, is it less expensive in other countries? From a lot of reading, I have come to the conclusion that in other countries, the quality of care surpasses that of the high and mighty, lol, USA and for a fraction of the cost than in the US. We are all brain washed when we're young.

yeah Hooligan I noticed that

I think there really is no way to determine who has the better anything when it comes to mental health care, too many factors play into it all.. But I am certain there is a think tank somewhere spending billions and trillions of dollars trying to come up with a list that is way out dated before it would even be published.

One thing I am certain of personally.. yes there has always been cases of mental illness ,but no one can convince me that our food supply and all the processed and genetically altered foods aren't causing an increase.. JMHO
