Friends and family, any of you had your license revoked becaused you take either Depakote, ER 500 MG x2 or Rispiridone? Texas revoked mine 4 years after I had an accident. Any advice appreciated. If your in the Houston area and know a good lawyer I could use one. Thanks, your newest board member. Noelstreet

I goggled your state and license info in regards to your situation ..

I found a good page texasdwi.pro.... It does have information regarding mental/physical components.

I would imagine you could go to your local DMV office and get specific information.

Maybe you just need to show documents from your Doctor stating your stable?

Anyway , hope this helps , Welcome to PC

Your laws are quite different to mine, as they would be for each country.

I had a car accident on saphris; but nothing was taken away from me; my pdoc and the motoring authority aren't linked.

The only time my pdoc is obliged to disclose substances is if she has a patient with illegal substance abuse.

I am sorry that this happened to you.

You might look at this site to see if it's helpful to you. https://txapps.texas.gov/txapp/txdps...ility/login.do

I moved away from Texas 10 years ago and my DLN was still in the database.

We use to have a member around here that was told he would lose his CDL to drive for a trucking company if he was diagnosed with a MI and/or on psych meds.. I know at the time he was frantic, he never did let us know what happened..

I've thought about doing the cdl school for a while. However, no one can give me straight answers on that subject. All the recruiter wants is a commitment so that he gets his fee, and the scholl wants my signature to lock me in debt, but they really don't care if I can get a job after schooling, so I've told them 2-3 times to go f themselves.

In order to drive any commercial vehicle you must have a Medical Certification card. Some things that can keep you from getting one are insulin controlled diabetes, Uncontrolled high blood pressure, heart disease that makes it likely you could suffer a MI( heart attack) at any time and MI that would effect your judgement.

Up to last year I was diagnosed with MDD and still was able to keep my Medical card. Last year, after being hospitalized I had to renew it, the doctor that did it knows of my DX of BP1 and said as long as I had not had a manic episode in the last 6 months I was ok. My diagnosis of BP1 is noted right on the long form of my medical certification.

Medical certification is required every two years unless there is a reason to need it yearly. Usually blood pressure problems. And that, not the MI dx is the reason I must renew mine every year.
