Just got out of the hospital after being there a week. I NEVER want to go there again!!! Being locked inside for a week straight is awful. All I needed was a med adjustment but the crisis center made me go inpatient based on my level of impulsiveness. I did get the med adjustment I needed but I just think it is so unfortunate that it had to come to being hospitalized. I didn't exactly go unwillingly, but I think it was unnecessary, especially for THAT long! Anyway, just wanted to put this out there. Happy to be free!

It is a safe place as they call it. I'm glad you got your adjustment. My first commitment was alright because it got me away from the bs I call life. Trust me, I don't want to go back!

I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I was IP for a week last fall, and my time there was actually very productive. Yeah, it sucks being locked up, and I don't want a repeat visit; but at that time I was more afraid of what was on the outside than what might be on the inside. Hope you're doing OK with your med adjustment.

I too have never had to be hospitalized, but I can imagine how it can actually add stress to the situation. Even though it is a safe place.

Best wishes to you.

Oh and my med adjustment was mainly to increase my lithium dose to 1050mg. Last checked my blood level was at 1.2 which makes me a little nervous but I'm not having any bad side effects. No hand tremor or anything like that. Just drinking lots of water.
