I've been having these dreams, well this dream over and over again about an intruder and an extreme amount of violence. I'll have it three times a night. I've had it my whole life, but it's getting scarier. I've always known that I'm going to die violently. I'm hearing things at night. I don't trust anyone or anything. I'm so scared to sleep. I loaded my gun and am keeping it under my mattress for the moment things go pear shaped. Things everywhere in my life are getting really shady. I'm drinking like a gallon of caffeine a day to get thru. I can't figure out if I'm depressed or not. I guess it doesn't matter. People keep telling me I'm paranoid. Maybe I am. But what if you just know?

I get these feelings also. I'm terrified of driving in cars. Im certain I'm going to die in a car wreck. I've been sure of this since childhood.

I believe what we are dealing with, are delusions. It sounds like this is causing a pretty serious amount of stress for you right now and it's best to talk to your doctor about what you are feeling.

I'm very sorry you are going through this right now. I hope you find someway to feel better soon. The only thing which helps me go on car trips, are benzo's. I wish that weren't the case, but it's the only thing to really help so far.

Thanks, Elsa. It's really scary, but it seems to realistic.

I have similar fears. I am constantly worried about an intruder and jump at the slightest sound, constantly making sure the door's locked, etc. At times I get very terrified in my own home and feel very unsafe and take whatever measures I can to make myself safe. All of this is totally irrational as I live in a quiet little town where nothing ever happens. Nonetheless...
