When I took it I had a issue with nausea too. When I took it with food it really did help. I eventually had to take the liquid form because I was started on a higher dose. It helped. Either way...I hope it goes away soon for you!

I take 500mg with breakfast and 500mg after dinner. When I first started Lithium I did experience nausea. I cannot recall for how long. I don't get it now unless I take it on an empty stomach or drink too much alcohol (not recommended). I hope this resolves for you soon. Is it showing any promise in other ways?

I take it at night as one dose, but I am like Wander and only have the nausea if I have an empty stomach or take it after drinking a bit (had that lovely experience last night, even).
I never experienced the lithium nausea when I first started, and don't really have it unless I do the above mentioned....but I do have the shakes and metal mouth that people sometimes get. ....so a nice trade-off I guess? :/

I take it all at night as well. My doctor told me it is easier on your kidney's to do it that way.

I've only been on it for 10 days now, so any day now I should see some change. I hope the darn nausea goes away soon

My Dr gave me something to take for nausea starting out. Do you have anything? Peppermints help some.

Side effects like that usually go away in 6 months. Lithium is a fantastic medication.

I take 900mg, extended release. I take two pills at night and one in the morning. I only experienced nausea for a couple of days. The side effects that have remained are craving salt and constant thirst.

Do you mean just ordinary peppermints?

Peppermint tea rocks....Sucking on peppermint candy and chewing peppermint gum helps too. Also I think there is an OTC med that helps with it...emetrol??

I'm going to try the gum thing, I always seem to really have bad metal mouth when I am nowhere near any sort of beverages to try and reduce it. I bought a little container of gum and will just keep it in my bag and see how that goes.
