It's also Vincent Van Gogh's birthday. I read that's why March 30 was chosen for bipolar awareness.

I'm a stud monkey, pick my nose, work as a cat rancher, and live in a wigwam.

I would never cut off my ear like Van Gogh, however, & bipolar doesn't define me.

I'm a student, a caregiver, a daughter, a sister, a dreamer, a music lover and player, a gamer, a driven individual (even in my darkest days/months/years). Bipolar does not define me either.

Edit: I had the courage to post basically this on my facebook even though 90% of my "friends" don't know I have bipolar.

This was actually only the second annual World Bipolar Day, that's probably why it's not well-known yet. It was started in 2014 by the Asian Network for Bipolar Disorders (I think that's the name) and the International Bipolar Foundation which is based in San Diego, CA. The purpose is to raise awareness, educate, and "normalize" the illness to help dispel the stigma. I posted a brief blurb about this on my blog yesterday.
