I recently married a BP II girl. I posted her story elsewhere. My question and one of the things we struggle with is she is quite the pathological liar. Is it possible that she is in denial about her "manic" personality and therefore will not or possibly cannot admit to the things the manic side of her does? If it occurred during mania is it possible that she could not even remember it happening? Is there any reality testing exercise we can do that will help ground her so that she is aware of both sides at the same time?
Thanks to everyone in advance!

Hi hopeful, manic is not a whole new personality set like DID (also known as Mulitple Personality Disorder) is. Sure it may seem that way, but it's no where close to being the same. And as I do get manic, I don't become a pathological liar either. Mania makes you super happy- to little off the wall crazy, but never into a pathological liar. The only time one might lie about something is to most likely to cover up an embarrasing thing that they did while manic, like over spending, or sleeping with a mistake, or no telling. She must have some other deep rooted issues elsewhere. Sorry sweety, I hope that helped.
